Parga Greece

A popular tourist attraction and a characterized traditional settlement, built in a lush area with keen island colours, wonderful beaches and surrounding islands. Excursion boats connect Parga with the surrounding beaches, Sivota of Thesprotia, as well as with the islands of Paxous, Antipaxous and Corfu. Itis located 60 km NW of Preveza.


Worth seeing
  •  The castle, on a hill on the outskirts of the city. Originally built by the Normans in the 14th century, it later received additions from various conquerors.
  •  The church of the patron saint Aghios Nikolaos.
  •  The churches of Aghion Apostolon, Aghia Eleni and Aghios Athanasios.
  •  The Ecclesiastic - Folklore Museum.
  •  The island of Panagia.
  •  The island of Monolithi.
  •  The square with the prevailing monument of Konsantinos Kanaris.
  •  The holiday resorts of Lihnos and Aghia Kiriaki.
  •  The sea caves.
  •  The village of Anthousa. Its castle atop the hill offers a splendid view.
  •  The Monastery of Vlaherna (12th century).
 Events
  •  "Pargina", cultural events held by the Municipality in collaboration with the city's cultural organizations, in July and August.
  •  "Kanaria", three-day events held on August 13-15.
